Meteorology Department warns of rising heat levels across Sri Lanka

By Nadhvi Irfan

The Department of Meteorology has issued a heat advisory for several provinces, including Northern, North-central, North-western, Western, Southern, and Eastern, as well as the Rathnapura and Monaragala districts.

The heat index is expected to reach the ‘Caution Level’ tomorrow (18), increasing the risk of fatigue and heat cramps.

Authorities warn that prolonged sun exposure and outdoor activity could be hazardous.

Residents are urged to stay hydrated and limit strenuous activities to avoid heat-related health issues.
